I was born and raised in Greenwich. In 1983 I returned to my hometown to practice law at Ivey, Barnum & O'Mara. For twenty-five years I volunteered in town government as a member of the RTM, as Chairman of the Board of Social Services and on the Board of Estimate and Taxation, where I was a long-serving member of the Budget Committee. I ran for the State House of Representatives twice and continued the longstanding tradition of Greenwich not electing a Democratic  representative since 1912.  My wife Beth is an attorney and active community volunteer. My daughters Sarah and Katie are graduates of the Greenwich public schools. I am proud of my hometown, but not so proud as to ignore its foibles and fripperies.
