Every year MLB switches things up for interleague play, but do you like it?
Before 1997, Major League Baseball (MLB) would segregate the American and National league as much as possible. Teams from both leagues would not play each other in a game that counted until the World Series, each league had their own governing body and umpires, and there were even differences in the rules like a change in the strike zone. During interleague play when a game takes place in a National League ballpark, the American League team is expected to have their pitcher hit, and when the American League team is home, the National League team must use a designated hitter. The DH rule has been debated ever since it was first used in the American League in 1973 but during interleague play every team gets a chance to allow their pitcher …
Capitales for 8-7 win.
Keith Brachold’s first homer as a Boulder looked to be a big one, as his 12th-inning blast gave Rockland a 7-4 lead, but an error opened the door for a four-run rally and a Quebec Capitales 8-7 win Saturday night. The Boulders (0-3), will now look to salvage the finale of the set as the teams will play again this afternoon before the Boulders head back to Provident Bank Park in Pomona for their home opener on Tuesday, May 22. Les Capitales hit the board in the opening frame off Rockland starter Pat Moran as Jonathan Malo singled, stole second, and eventually scored on a Sebastian Boucher sac fly. Quebec added two in the second, aided by a Ryan Mollica error. A Josue Peley RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Paul Karmas put the hosts up by a …

Matt Nandin slams 3-run homer for Rockland, but Capitales rally to take 7-3 win.

Nandin’s shot in the third put the Boulders in front, but the defending champs posted a decisive three-run sixth and added a pair in the eighth to take home the win. Quebec broke through in the first on Blevins with a two-out rally, as Sebastian Boucher’s double and Rene Leveret’s single plated the first run of the season. Rockland would claim the lead in the third with three runs on just one hit off Capitale ace Brian Rembisz. Scott Clement was hit by a pitch leading off, Cole Kraft was walked, and Nandin …

The bats are part of the MLB’s tradition to raise awareness for breast cancer and to raise funds to someday find a cure. An Arizona high school baseball team forfeited a game to avoid playing against a girl.
The National League was founded in February of 1876, and since the senior circuit kicked off baseball in this country women have gained equal rights and made a huge impact on the sports landscape both in the United States and abroad. Recently a story came out of Arizona where Our Lady of Sorrows Academy forfeited a state championship game, refusing to play Mesa Prep solely because the team’s starting second basemen is a girl. Mesa Prep is a Phoenix high school and the school does not have a softball team, so Paige Sulzbach, a 15-year-old girl decided to try her hand in baseball. Not only did Sulzbach make the team but she is the squad’s starting second basewoman. Out of respect for Our Lady of Sorrows, Sulzbach sat out during Mesa Prep’s …
