But when I was there on a…Read More rainy cold opening day on Saturday, I was SURROUNDED by nothing but families - even HIS family was there. They all came out in the lousy weather to have a good time. Parents and kids and grandparents and every combo of aunt uncle cousin etc. you could imagine, all different colors, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, many different languages being spoken, everyone happy to see the place open again, getting along, smiling, having a good time. "Pitch in for the Parks" is a Westchester County-run event, made up of dozens of clean up groups working on a single day. I co-chaired the local event in the Eastchester/Scarsdale area.
Jim Sutton from the fabulous Bronx River Parkland Reservation Conservancy (http://www.bronx-river.com/) helped us plan our event and worked with the county on a handful of other ones too.
They all deserve credit. Thank you!
