The library association in Tuckahoe was created in 1912, but it wasn't until 1927 that it was officially recognized as a public library. For the past 30 years, the Tuckahoe Public Library has called its Columbus Avenue location home.

The library offers various services for children, teens and adults. For kids, programs include story time, workshops and a parent/child book club; for teens there are activities and events such as movies and a teen advisory board; adult programs include computer classes, writing and other workshops and a book club. Home-bound services are also offered, and there is a party room available for rental.

As a member of the Westchester Library System, Tuckahoe library-card holders also have access to the 37 other libraries in the county.

Debra Coppola is library director.
