The Bronxville Public Library has been serving the literary needs of the community since 1906. For its first 36 years, the library was housed in Village Hall. Then, in 1942, it moved to a new Harry Leslie Walker–designed building on Pondfield Road, where it continues to operate today. The library underwent a renovation in 2001, which expanded the children's room, established better handicapped access and added additional reading areas, among other changes.

In addition to a 75,000-item collection, the library offers a variety of services. These include programs such as craft workshops and sing-alongs for kids, an anime/manga club and book club for teens and film screenings and author readings for adults. There is also a local history room, maintained by Village Historian Eloise L. Morgan.

As members of the Westchester Library System, Bronxville cardholders also have access to the collections of any of the 37 libraries in the countywide system.

Friends of the Bronxville Library is a nonprofit, 800-member organization that helps the library. It can be found at www.bronxvillelibraryfriends.org.

Laura Eckley is the library director.
