An Economics Presentation and a Charity Event for Gabi’s Gold Fund

- Amity Shlaes discusses "A Rigged Game: Monopoly, Business and the Failure of the New Deal": During a presentation Monday at Sarah Lawrence College, the Yale alumna and renowned writer of politics and economics discusses how the New Deal went wrong. Shlaes is currently a columnist for Forbes, and she has previously written about economics in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes, and the National Review, among many other publications. She has also authored multiple bestsellers that explored a range of topics, from the Great Depression to the American tax code. Free, 6 p.m. Donnelley Film Theatre/Lecture Hall in the Heimbold Visual Arts Center, Sarah Lawrence College, 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.



- Gabi's Gold Presents Community Night at Blue Moon Mexican Cafe: The nonprofit organization, Gabi’s Gold Fund, has partnered with Blue Moon Mexican Cafe in honor of Gabi Olivo, a Throgs Neck 3-year-old, currently battling Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer. During Community Night on Tuesday, 20 percent of your bill (excluding taxes and gratuity) will be donated to the organization and research for Neuroblastoma. Seating will be based upon first come, first serve basis. From 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Blue Moon Mexican Cafe 7-27 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.



- Mother Nature’s Storytime: Enjoy a day at the Greenburgh Natuer Center with walks, live animals, stories and crafts on Wednesday. Members: $5 for adults and $4 for children; non-members: $9 for adults and $7 for children. 10 a.m., Greenburgh Nature Center, 99 Dromore Road, Scarsdale.

- Let’s Play Mah Jongg: Tournament Play: Veteran Scarsdale Adult School mah jongg instructor Katie Goldberg will organize the Thursday event. Interested players may sign up as a group, with partners, or as singletons, and all playing levels are welcome. Prizes will be awarded.
