Students were tasked with counting to ten one at a time but if two or more students said the same number at the same time, they would have to start over.

The campers could not face each other and without knowing who would say the next number, the task became difficult quickly.

The campers tried several different methods to complete this fun yet complicated task:

  • a clockwise pattern
  • counting slowly
  • long pauses
  • reducing the number of players
  • switching off into pairs

Three girls (Sabrina, Eliza, Hiroko) finally figured out how to count to ten. It was a diffult task, but they solved it.

In the end, the girls switched off, saying each number consecutively, until they got to ten and without the interuption of any of the other kids.

Campers learned a team building exercise on how to count to ten and then applied that experience to learn how to do reporting on what had just taken place, creating a title, paragraphs and how to structure the overall article.
