Several local teams took part in the section championships over the weekend, and while some local teams fell in the title game the Bronxville girls brought home the trophy in soccer, field hockey and cross country.

Game: Pleasantville @ Bronxville
Score: Bronxville Won 3-0
Highlights: Ashley Gietl picked up two goals and Liz Cory had the other as Bronxville cruised to victory. Grace Devlin had four saves in the win.
Sport: Girl’s Soccer
Game: Bronxville vs. Briarcliff
Score: Bronxville Won 1-0
Highlights: Bronxville came home with a section championship thanks to a Taylor Reynolds goal and seven saves from Grace Devlin.

Game: Valhalla @ Bronxville
Score: Bronxville Won 5-1
Highlights: Gretchen Richter led the way with three goals in the victory. Ally Pass had two assists and Katie Knox had one save.

Game: Bronxville vs. Rye Neck
Score: Bronxville Won 5-0
Highlights: Bronxville won the section with five different players finding the back of the net. Bailey Wood, Gretchen Richter, Ally Pass, Brook Bonfiglio and Hillary Hamann each scored in the win.
Sport: Boy’s Soccer
Game: Bronxville vs. Blind Brook
Score: Blind Brook Won 2-1 (2OT)
Highlights: Lucas McBride picked up a score for the Trojans, and Bronxville scored on themselves in overtime to give Blind Brook the section championship. Ned Carpenter scored for Bronxville and starting goal tender Jack Conner left the game after a collision with a leg injury.

Game: Bronxville vs. Dobbs Ferry
Score: Dobbs Ferry Won 38-14
Highlights: The Broncos season ended against Dobbs Ferry in the section championship at Mahopac High School.
Sport: Volleyball
Game: Eastchester vs. Pelham
Score: Pelham Won 3-0
Highlights: Pelham won with ease 25-18, 25-10 and 25-11. The Pelicans were led by Helen Gandler’s 15 kills, and Lauren Keller’s 38 assists. In the loss Eastchester’s Amy DePippo had 10 assists.

Game: Haldane vs. Tuckahoe
Score: Haldane Won 25-14
Highlights: Tuckahoe went out on top 14-0 in the first quarter but the Tuckahoe defense couldn’t contain the Blue Devil rushing attack.
Sport: Boy’s Cross Country
Game: Section 1 Championships Class B
Score: Eastchester 289 (12th Place)
Highlights: Gabriel Perez finished 45th overall and at 18:40.31 he was the top score for Eastchester.
Sport: Girl’s Cross Country
Game: Section 1 Championships Class B
Score: Eastchester 360 (13th Place)
Highlights: Ariette Maher came in 40th overall with a time of 22:16.81 for the top score of the day for the Eagles.
Sport: Girl’s Cross Country
Game: Section 1 Championships Class C
Score: Bronxville 21 (1st Place)
Highlights: With six competitors finishing in the top eight spots Bronxville cruised to a section crown. Mary Cain led the way with a time of 18:25.02 and Meredith Rizzo finished 50 seconds behind her.
Sport: Boy’s Cross Country
Game: Section 1 Championships Class C
Score: Bronxville 71 (2nd Place)
Highlights: 10th grader John Flannery led the way for Bronxville as he finished in 5th overall with a time of 17:19.19. John Vetromile and Dayton Flannery also finished in the top ten.
