Daily Sports Digest: Local Soccer Teams Go 3-0

All three local teams came back from break today and jumped right back into competition. The three girl’s soccer teams in the area dominated their competition with quick goals and good defense.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Girl’s Soccer

Game: Bronxville @ Lincoln

Score:  Bronxville Won 5-0

Highlights: Lucy Kohlhoff led the way for the Broncos with two goals and an assist. Ashley Giell, Grace O’Toole and Elisa Weir also scored and Jessica Tighe and Lucy Whitney each dished out an assist.

Sport: Girl’s Soccer

Game: Eastchester @ Pelham

Score: Eastchester Won 3-1

Highlights: The Eagles were led by goal keeper Sara Doyle who picked up ten saves in the victory. While Doyle took care of the defense Marcelle Schepisi and Danielle Jensen took care of the scoring as Shepisi found the back of the net twice. Claire Fogarty had 13 saves in the loss for Pelham and Caitlin Fryer scored the lone goal for the Pelicans.

Sport: Girl’s Soccer

Game: Woodlands @ Tuckahoe

Score: Tuckahoe Won 9-1

Highlights: The Tigers dominated from the opening seconds of the game as Tuckahoe had seven goals in the first half. Abby Stupple held down the goal for the Tigers as she picked up 15 saves, and the Tuckahoe offense was led by Alessandra Cirillo’s three goals and Olivia Fox’s two.

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Rye @ Bronxville

Score: Bronxville Lost 2-0

Highlights: Bronxville picked up just their second loss of the season at home against the Rye Garnets.

Today’s Schedule

In boy’s soccer, the Broncos will be traveling to Pelham for a 4:30 p.m. showdown with the Pelicans. Bronxville is undefeated but when the two teams matched up earlier in the season they found themselves in a scoreless tie.

In boy’s soccer, Eastchester will be traveling to Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. When the two teams met earlier the Eagles were victorious 6-1. 

In boy’s soccer, Tuckahoe will be at home against Yonkers at 4:30 p.m. When the two teams met in September Yonkers came away with a 5-0 win.

In girl’s soccer, Bronxville will take on the Panthers at Edgemont 4:30 p.m. When the squads faced off in September the game ended in a scoreless tie.

In girl’s tennis, Bronxville is home against the Ursuline Koalas at 4:15 p.m.

In girl’s tennis, Eastchester will be heading to Veteran’s Park in Greenburgh to take on Ardsley at 4:15 p.m.

In volleyball, Eastchester is home against Edgemont at 4:15 p.m.
