Daily Sports Digest: Local Football Teams Advance In The Snow

Snow in October would make any weekend a little more interesting, but add three local playoff football games and then you really have something remarkably exciting. Tuckahoe had no problem against Lincoln Hall while Eastchester got out to a good start against Pleasantville. The most anticipated game of the weekend had to be Bronxville’s beat down of Blind Brook that was suspended Saturday and resumed on Sunday. It may have taken an extra day but the Broncos still won easily.

Bronxville’s top seeded boy’s soccer team also took to the field as the Broncos picked up a win with ease. The second seeded Eastchester volleyball team also cruised to victory as they beat Pleasantville in straight sets.

The top seeded Bronco field hockey team will step into action this afternoon against Briarcliff.

Sport: Boy’s Soccer

Game: Pleasantville @ Bronxville

Score:  Bronxville Won 4-0

Highlights: Sam Aherne led the way as the top seeded Broncos won easily against Pleasantville. Aherne picked up two goals, while Ned Carpenter and Ben Holland each found one of their own in the win.

Sport: Football

Game: Blind Brook @ Bronxville

Score:  Bronxville Won 47-13

Highlights: The two teams met on Saturday but due to the weather the officials suspended the game in the second quarter till Sunday. It didn’t matter what day it was as the Broncos dominated the game throughout the contest. Last week’s Con Ed award winner Christian Conway led Bronxville on the ground as he ran for six touchdowns.

Game: Pleasantville @ Eastchester

Score:  Eastchester Won 3-0

Highlights: Eastchester showed why they are one of the Class’s top seeds as the cruised to victory against Pleasantville 25-12, 25-12, and 25-16. In the win Amy DePippo led the way with six kills and 14 assists.

Sport: Football

Game: Byram Hills @ Eastchester

Score:  Eastchester Won 20-13

Highlights: Eastchester got out on top quickly as they scored all of their points in the first half. Greg DiCarlo tossed a touchdown pass to Pat Guido and ran one in himself, Rob Carinci also rushed for a score in the win.

Sport: Football

Game: Lincoln Hall @ Tuckahoe

Score:  Tuckahoe Won 34-0

Highlights: Nick Reisman had two touchdowns on the ground for Tuckahoe, while Shyheim Nixon added two scores of his own in the win.
