Daily Sports Digest: Eastchester Soccer Falls In First Round

Eastchester’s playoff run ended early in boy’s soccer as the Eagles fell to the Keio Unicorns yesterday afternoon. Bronxville’s soccer will hope for better luck today as the top seeded Broncos will host Pleasantville. Pleasantville beat Dover 5-0 in their opening round game on Thursday.

The Eagles will begin their playoff run tonight in volleyball as second seeded Eastchester hosts Pleasantville, the two teams have not met this season.

Eastchester’s girl’s soccer postseason begins this Saturday as the Eagles will host the winner of tonight’s Pelham Peekskill game at 3 p.m. Eastchester hasn’t played Peekskill this season but the eagles have won both matchups with Pelham this year.

Saturday will also be a great day on the gridiron as all three local teams will be back in action. Top seeded Bronxville will hope to continue one of the area’s longest win streaks against the 6-1 Blind Brook Trojans. Eastchester will be in action as they host Byram Hills Saturday afternoon and Tuckahoe will host Lincoln Hall in the Class D Semifinal matchup set to kick off at 1 p.m.

Score:  Keio Won 2-0

Highlights: Keio picked up goals from Shonhei Yamaga and Genki Shiga as the Unicorns shut out Eastchester last night. Akira Niki had six saves in the win and Eastchester’s Frederic Delran had 20 in the loss.
