Bronxville's Gryphons Get New Volleyball Coach

The Gryphons will have a new women's volleyball head coach when they start the 2013 season. Jillian Kalvik, who had been Eckerd College's assistant coach, will be taking the reins. Kalvik helped lead Eckerd to a 27-5 season back in 2011.

Previously, Kalvik was an assistant coach at the University of Chicago. She helped that team to its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship. The new head coach has also coached women's basketball for Macalester College.

Kalvik was a nationally-recognized student player at Concordia University in Saint Paul. While there, she set team records in volleyball. Her squad finished as the number 10 team in the nation for the 2004-04 season.
