Bronxville Running Shoe Breakdown

Bronxville Running Company's Alicia Brown explained the key differences between running shoes. Brown says that the two main types of running shoes are either considered "stability" shoes or "neutral."

Stability shoes have a special material attached to them called posting. Posting material (or a post) can help fix your foot's inward and outward roll. On the other end of the running shoe spectrum is the neutral, cushioning running shoe. Neutral running shoes only offer a cushioning system with no type of correction. Lastly, there are also motion control shoes. They offer features such as stiffer heels.

Some running shoe stores, such as the Bronxville Running Company, have a treadmill that you can run on, so the person helping you pick out a shoe can observe your running style and see if a specific type of shoe may be helpful to you.
