Bronxville Girls Advance in Section 1 Tourney
Broncos defeat Hastings 45-33, advance to quarterfinals with game against Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday.
Balanced offense and a determined defense that has stifled opponents’ offenses all season helped lift the Bronxville girls’ basketball team to a 45-33 victory over Hastings in the opening round of the Section 1 Class C tournament on Feb. 18.
Bronxville’s top scorer Grace Devlin led with 14 points and Claudia Jensen added 12 as the third-seeded Broncos advanced to a Wednesday, Feb. 23 quarterfinal match-up against No. 6 Dobbs Ferry.
Bronxville held the Yellow Jackets to three points in the first quarter and single digits in three of the four quarters–outscoring Hastings 14-6 in the fourth to pull away.

Kirsten Noonan added six points for Bronxville and Danielle Kelly and Maureen Reilly each added four.

Briarcliff 59, Bronxville 35: The 14th seeded Broncos fell in the opening round of the Section 1 Class C boys' playoffs and finished the season at 5-13. Matt Tormey scored a team-high 18 points for the Broncos.
Panas 42, Eastchester 29: In a Class A outbracket, girls’ basketball No. 16 Eastchester was led by Adriana Rosales’ 13 points. Panas moved on to play top-seeded Peekskill.
