Tuckahoe School Superintendent Search Developments

The school district says it is looking at paying $20,000-$30,000 to a search firm so they can find superintendent candidates for the school board.

The Tuckahoe School District says SWBOCES did not present them with any candidates that would be a good fit for the superintendent position. Now, the Tuckahoe Board of Education is looking at paying a search firm $20,000-$30,000 to find candidates. Here is the announcement from the Board of Ed.

After careful consideration, the Board of Education has determined that the superintendent candidates presented by SWBOCES would not be a good fit for our school district. Therefore, the Board has decided to continue its search for our next Superintendent of Schools. Board President Julio Urbina is contacting other search firms in hopes of tapping into a well-qualified pool of candidates who would possess the characteristics necessary to succeed as Superintendent of the Tuckahoe Union Free School District.

Because the school district is a member of SWBOCES, it was not charged for its executive search other than modest candidate expenses associated with the search process. Moving forward, however, the projected costs of engaging another search firm are estimated to be between $20,000 - $30,000.
