New Eastchester Middle School Principal

Scott Wynne will take over the reigns from Walter Moran.

The Eastchester Union Free School District has named a new principal for the Eastchester Middle School. Scott Wynne will take over the reigns from Walter Moran. Moran recently moved over to the District's superintendent position.

“The Board and I are delighted that Mr. Wynne will be taking on this role," said Eastchester Union Free School District President David Carforo. "We are fortunate to have an administrator of his capability already in the district with a demonstrated commitment to the children of Eastchester.  Supporting a strong learning community has been Mr. Wynne’s priority. We fully expect that he will continue to create new academic initiatives and innovative approaches to instruction.”

Wynne is a familiar face around Eastchester, serving as the Middle School principal since 2009. Before that, he was the dean of students at George Fischer Middle School in Carmel. Wynne was also assistant principal of the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES Regional High School Summer School. Before being an assistant principal, Wynne was a math teacher up until 2008 in Yorktown.

“I have an unwavering belief in student growth and success," said Wynne. "Every day challenges inspire us to think creatively, nurture and employ novel objectives, model best practices and support staff members in pursuit of improving instruction.  I look forward to sustaining an environment of continuous educational improvement, beyond the simple measures of success prescribed by New York State.”

The School District says Wynne is set to be officially appointed to the principal position on April 23. The appointment will happen at the Board of Education meeting. He would then start the position on July 15.
