David Otis Fuller, Jr., Esq. is a partner in the Bronxville law firm of Bosworth, Gray & Fuller where he practices in the areas of elder law and estate planning. He is a graduate of Wheaton College (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD). Joseph E. Godfrey III, CLU, AEP is President & CEO of SWAN Solutions, LLC of New York City. He is a graduate of Northwestern University (BA) and Columbia Business School (MBA) with the professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from The American College from which he also holds a certificate in Advanced Estate Planning (AEP). He has published more than a dozen articles in professional journals and made many professional presentations to diverse audiences around the country. Messrs. Fuller and Godfrey will have a panelists’ conversation on “The ARRT of Managing Retirement Income Risks” where A= Avoid things with a chance of loss; R = Reduce exposure to chances of loss; R = Retain risks for upside potential to protect against inflation and T = Transfer risk for some pre-determined amount of funds in exchange for promises not otherwise attainable.
They will then explore The HOWs of Long Term Care Insurance to facilitate people in understanding why it seems so expensive, why some premiums have been raised dramatically on older policyholders and various tax subsidies available. Annuities to provide guaranteed income for life will be reviewed as well as a unique case study of how a daughter enhanced her mother’s retirement income greatly by combining an annuity with life insurance to cover a different risk.
