Eastchester Private School Transportation

Residents requesting transportation to private or parochial schools must be registered with the Eastchester School District.

Thanks to Mary Ellen Byrne from the Eastchester School District for the following:

In accordance with New York State Education Law, the Eastchester Union Free School District will furnish transportation for your child to attend the private or parochial school of your choice up to the statutory limit of 15 miles. Students in grades K-5 are eligible for transportation if they currently reside more than ½ mile and students in grades 6-12 are eligible if they reside more than 1 mile from the school of your choice. Residents requesting transportation to private or parochial schools must be registered with the Eastchester School District. If you have any questions regarding your registration status, please contact Roe Snyder, in the District Registration Office, at (914) 793-6130 ext. 4777.  

The request for transportation must be received by the Transportation Office no later than April 1, 2013. Applications submitted after April 1st will not be approved. A separate application must be submitted for each child attending private or parochial school. If you are undecided as to which school your child will be attending, multiple applications may be sent prior to the April 1st deadline.   A final decision from the applications submitted can be made after April 1st, but no later than July 1st.

Upon receiving each transportation application, an acknowledgment will be forwarded to you. Please retain the acknowledgment for your records. If you do not receive an acknowledgment within ten days, please contact the Transportation Office at 793-6130, ext. 4444.
