7 from Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe Awarded Community Fund Scholarships

Each year, The Community Fund provides scholarships to local graduating seniors in memory of Michael Frey, an Eastchester police officer who lost his life in the line of duty.

The Community Fund of Bronxville Eastchester Tuckahoe, Inc., announced seven recipients of the Michael Frey Scholarship Award at its annual meeting held on May 27, 2014.

The recipients of the Michael Frey Scholarships for the graduating Class of 2014 are: 

James Patrick McDermott II and Zane Rivera-Heinz, from Bronxville High School 

Jacqueline Groccia and Jacqueline Mazariego from Eastchester High School 

Katharine Ferrone, Mykal Gerald, and Jean Marie Gizzo from Tuckahoe High School

Each year, The Community Fund provides scholarships to local graduating seniors in memory of Michael Frey, an Eastchester police officer who lost his life in the line of duty, and in appreciation of the dedicated emergency workers in our community. Students are chosen based on their dedicated service and support of their fellow students and the community at large.

Jeff Rohr, president of the Community Fund, commented, “Leadership begins with helping others, and we are proud to honor these outstanding future leaders.”

The Community Fund of Bronxville Eastchester Tuckahoe, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized to provide funding and support for local agencies serving the health, education, and welfare needs of local residents. I am so happy that they are getting out of high school now and will not have to be subjected to any more Common Core and Data mining from it.
