Power Returning Slowly to Bronxville on Sunday

Bronxville Mayor Mary C. Marvin updates residents on the power restoration efforts taking place in the village.

The following is an update from Village of Bronxville Mayor Mary C. Marvin regarding Con Ed. and power restoration in Bronxville

Con Ed has reported to us that progress continues to be made in the restoration of power in Bronxville and Westchester County.

Schools, nursing homes, municipal centers, shelters, water plants, pump stations and polling places are considered critical locations. Con Ed is focused on, and has prioritized, restoring power to those critical locations.

In Bronxville the Village State of Emergency has been extended and will stay in place until the village is fully restored.

Today in Bronxville Con Ed restored power to Concordia College. As a result of that effort many village areas linked to the same grid as  Concordia College have also had power restored.

Con Ed is now working in the area of the Village Library. When this effort is completed other village residencies located in the area around the library will also be restored. All traffic signals throughout the village are now powered.

Though much more of the village is coming online today and more is expected to come on line tomorrow there are still some locations in the village that are problematic and will require more time to resolve. Con Ed is working to isolate problems and get the greatest number of residences back on line as soon as possible.

In the interim, if you have not called in your outage, please call 1-800-75CONED and report it using the automated system.

Additionally, if your power has come on and then you lose it again, you should call Con Edison again to notify them. Calling Con Ed to notify them that your home is without power is critical and will help in restoring power to your home.
