Columbus Day Closures in Our Area

With the arrival of the Columbus Day holiday also comes many closures around our area from banks to municipal buildings.

 

With today being celebrated as the commemoration of explorer Christopher Columbus' arrival to the Americas back in 1492, many government institutions and public buildings will be closed today.

Here are a list of places in our area that will not be open or operating today:

Eastchester/Tuckahoe

All Schools, libraries and municipal buildings are closed today. In Tuckahoe, the sanitation schedule for this week goes as follows:

  • Tuesday - Household trash and e-waste pick up
  • Wednesday - Recyclables pick up
  • Thursday - Bulk, metals and yard waste pick up
  • Friday - Household trash pick up

Lake Isle Country Club will be open and hosting the Columbus Day carnival.

Bronxville

All Schools are closed today and the Bronxville library, along with Bronxville Village Hall and banks will be observing the holiday and will be closed. 

Metro North

Metro North will be running on a weekday schedule for today.
