Scarsdale resident Steven Baker has won tonight's Eastchester Board of Fire Commissioners race. Baker won the race with 757 votes.
There were a total of three candidates running for one spot. Trailing Baker was Scarsdale resident Raymond Albanese. Albanese had 234 votes. Eastchester resident John Palazzolo only received 183 votes.
The Board of Fire Commissioners governs the Fire District and, according to the town website, "are responsible for general administration; the appointment of department personnel (paid and volunteer), physician, attorney and secretary (salaried positions), and the preparation and adoption of the annual Fire District budget after a public hearing." The board meets monthly, except for July and August.
