Trend Alert: More Items Picked From Cars Overnight

Items continue to be stolen from parked cars in local driveways.

A report was filed from a Scarsdale resident on Aug 5, calling to report that his car, had been parked in his driveway for three days, and he noticed items were missing. The caller, who resides on Fox Meadow Road, claimed that a portable grill and other items were removed from the vehicle.

A Tomkins Road resident in Scarsdale called the police on Aug 7 at 5:42 p.m. reporting that someone went through their vehicle over night, and possibly removed belongings. The resident claims that the individual entered the vehicle between 11 p.m. the previous night, and 7:30 a.m. in the morning. Money, jewelry and other valuables were in the vehicle. While the items appeared to have been moved, nothing was missing.

 The Eastchester Police Department received five calls of similar incidents that occurred within four days of each other. In all of the cases, the cars were parked in driveways, were unlocked, and had loose change stolen from them.

On Aug 11, there were three reports filed by the Eastchester Police. Residents of homes from Hilltop Road in Bronxville, Hillside Road in Bronxville, and Garth Road in Eastchester all made claims that items were misplaced and absent from their vehicles.

On Aug 13, the residents of a home on New Rochelle Road in Bronxville called the station at 10:39 a.m. claiming that they noticed items in disarray and several items missing.

Two days later, the police station got a call from Foothill Road in Eastchester at 8:04 a.m., after the residents realized that objects from their car had been taken.
