Randall Cutler Pled Guilty to 1 Weapons Count, Says DA

The charge stemmed from a dispute at the family's home in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The Westchester County DA's office released the following statement: 

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Randall Cutler of 10 Westway, Bronxville, pled guilty today to one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class “D” Violent Felony.

On Nov. 1, 2012 at 8:30 a.m., Bronxville Police were called to the above address on a report of a “domestic dispute” between the defendant and his brother, the DA's office said.

The residence is owned by the parents of the defendant and his brother. The defendant was living there and had a bedroom on the third floor.

This incident occurred in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the electricity was off in the house and the dispute arose over the use of a generator, officials said.

The defendant began to argue with his brother and sister-in-law at which point the defendant pointed a firearm at his brother from the staircase, officials alleged.

Responding police officers detained the defendant and subsequently arrested him. Police obtained a search warrant for the premises after which the defendant was charged.

The defendant’s cash bail of $50,000 was continued.

Sentencing will be on Jan. 8, 2014. He faces a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.

Assistant District Attorney Patrick Moore, Chief of the Firearms Bureau is prosecuting the case.
