No Trick or Treating in Bronxville

Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale says that residents should not make plans to engage in Trick or Treating activities while dangerous conditions still exist in Bronxville.

The following was submitted by Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale.

We continue to work closely with con edison to inspect downed wires. we have found several wires still energized and continue to urge residents to exercise caution if they must be out.

Once the power to the wires is cut we will remove trees and branches blocking roadways and sidewalks. this process will likely take at least another twenty-four hours.

After this process con edison will begin to make repairs to the damaged wires prior to restoring power to the lines. we do not have an estimate on when power will be restored and we do not expect any estimates until con edison can full assess damages throughout the county.

We have been in contact with officials at the bronxville school district and they have reported to us that schools will be closed again on wednesday.

The village continues to operate under a state of emergency. after careful consideration and in light of the dangerous conditions that exist throughout the village - both on public and private property - we will not be permitting trick or treating activities tomorrow evening.

We hope that you cooperate and understand that under the existing conditions - which will not be resolved by tomorrow evening  - it would not be prudent to authorize trick or treating activities while these dangerous conditions exist.

Thank you
Chief Christopher Satriale
