Newsday: Strangled Mother Has Died

NY Newsday has published an unconfirmed report that Theresa Gorski Howson, allegedly strangled by her husband, was been taken off life support on Wednesday afternoon.

According to "a source familiar with the situation," Theresa Gorski Howson has died following four days on life support at Phelps Memorial Hospital.

Newsday has published a report that Howson's relatives decided to pull the plug just after 2 p.m. Wednesday when doctors made it clear she would not survive her injuries.

Howson was rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning when her husband Christopher called 911 after a domestic dispute. She was unconscious and did not respond to CPR attempts at the scene.

Christopher Howson, 49, has since appeared in Village Court, albeit briefly, to receive a one-week delay in his felony hearing on charges of attempted murder and strangulation.

Howson is being held without bail at Westchester County Jail.

The Westchester County Medical Examiner's office told Patch "this office is not giving out any information whatsoever about the case," saying the case has been referred to the District Attorney's office which could not yet be reached for comment.
