Kevin Bacon Filming in Westchester

A Westchester village has a contract to allow for the Kevin Bacon show's filming.

Kevin Bacon's new Fox television series The Following continues filming here in Westchester. North State Road in the Town of Ossining was bustling with activity Tuesday.

Multiple prop vehicles, including a fire truck, Maryland State Police vehicles and television news station vans are crowded onto the street—in front of the former Ossining command of the Westchester County Police—as well as in front of The Briar's Restaurant.

"Location companies approach municipalities looking for different venues for live shots for movies and TV shows constantly," Town of Ossining Supervisor Susanne Donnelly said in an email to Patch. "About six months ago the Village of Ossining police was approached about a film/tv show using their building and they suggested that the location people talk to the Town because we had an empty police building."

Then, "we got a call and we said we had the building and it was available. They called back six months later and here we are with a contract for a daily fee," Donnelly shared.

The cast and crew will be in the area for seven to eight days, including prep time and filming, she added.

"We encourage the crew from The Following as well as other studios to use the building at our daily rate for their shoots," she said. The town is receiving $1,000 "for prep and wrap days" and $1,400 for filming days.

There were also multiple Westchester County Police vehicles stationed along the road.

Donnelly said, "The studio has a separate contract with the Westchester County Police."

The former Ossining command of the Westchester County Police on North State Road has been vacant for about six months and is still for sale. "...but in the meanwhile we are constantly looking for ways to help bring revenue dollars into the Town," Donnelly said.

"This is not only good for the Town and the film studio, but also for the local businesses on North State Road."
