Four-Year Old Child Found Dead in Village of Mamaroneck

The mother of a 4-year-old boy is considered a person of interest in his homicide.

A 4-year-old boy who lived at a condo complex on 1035 E. Boston Post Rd. in the Village of Mamaroneck was confirmed dead this morning, after police responded to a 911 call about the well-being of the boy’s mother.

Upon entering the apartment at 10:30 a.m. today after being let in by a relative, police found the dead child in a bedroom along with his 46-year-old mother, who was in a semi-conscious state, according to village police.  The mother was taken to the hospital for evaluation and is expected to recover.

According to Mayor Norm Rosenblum, the mother is being treated as a “person of interest” in the case, which is being actively investigated by the VOMPD. No charges have yet been filed in connection with the incident.

“Any homicide is bad…it’s particularly magnified when it’s a little kid,” said Rosenblum.
