Eastchester Police: New Car Break-In Warning Issued

Eastchester's Finest are joining the Bronxville Police Department in warning people here about a slew of recent car break-ins. In this latest warning issued this week, authorities say that only unlocked vehicles seem to be targeted.

"The Eastchester Police Department encourages all residents to lock their vehicles and remove all valuable items whenever the vehicles are unattended," said Eastchester Lt. Robert Jensen. "Targeted items are laptops, GPS units, radar detectors, brief cases, pocketbooks, loose money…"

Back in March, Eastchester Police had said that the most recent larcenies had occurred in the southern end of town, specifically the California and New Rochelle Road corridors.

One of the most astonishing incidents that happened in Bronxville involved brazen criminals taking the hood, bumper and other items off a car that was parked in the Stoneleigh Plaza garage. The theft happened sometime between February 19 and the 22nd.
