Cab Driver Assaulted in Bronxville

Police are trying to track down a man who punched a cab driver on Pondfield Road.

A cabbie was taking four men through Bronxville when he was assaulted in the early morning hours. Investigators say the driver stopped in front of 72 Pondfield Road West. While his cab was stopped, one of the passengers punched him in the neck, as all four men jumped out of the car and ran away.

The men were apparently trying to get out of paying an $85 fare for their ride. Bronxville Police say that the incident happened around 1:30 a.m.

Police asked the taxi driver if he needed a doctor to look at his injuries, but the cabbie refused medical attention.

Bronxville Police scoured the area, looking for the four men, but they weren't able to find them. Authorities are still trying to track down the four men involved in the November 22 assault. If you have any information please call the Bronxville Police Department.
