Bronxville Police Issue Update on Car Break-Ins

Thefts took place overnight on Monday; 'lock your car,' authorities stress

released more information Wednesday morning about and consequent larcenies that occurred earlier this week.

A total of four unlocked cars were broken into Monday night, on Greenfield, Oriole and Tanglewylde Avenues.

"We're concentrating on these events," said police chief Christopher Satriale, noting the larcenies are still under investigation and authorities are searching for the culprit.

Satriale said two pairs of sunglasses, credit cards and about $330 in cash were swiped; all the items were visible through the car windows.

"We urge residents and visitors to lock and alarm their parked motor vehicles at all times," Satriale added.

I thought Bronxville residents were smarter than this. Crime happens anywhere but to to leave these things in clear view in an unlocked car, especially cash--I don't know. Not condoning just saying.
