Bronxville Man Arrested on DWI, Pot Possession Charges

State police confiscated 22 grams of marijuana from the driver's vehicle, according to authorities.

A 53-year-old Bronxville man was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of driving while impaired and marijuana possession after state police observed him driving erratically on I-87 and smoking a marijuana cigarette.


According to New York State Police, Anthony Bucaj was allegedly swerving out of the southbound lane at about 11 a.m. when he was spotted by a trooper. The trooper pulled up alongside of Bucaj and could see he was also allegedly smoking a marijuana cigarette.


After pulling over Bucaj, the trooper smelled pot emanating from Bucaj’s green Kia, and upon searching the car he found 22 grams of pot inside.

Bucaj was charged with driving while ability was impaired by drugs and fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.


He was released after posting a $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in City of Yonkers Court on Oct. 29.
