Eastchester – June 28 & July 2:
Eastchester Police were called in around 5 p.m. on June 28 by the security staff at the Lord & Taylor located on 750 White Plains Road, after three female shoplifters from the Bronx attempted to leave the store with over $1,300 in stolen merchandise. The defendants were all charged with 4th degree grand larceny and will appear in Eastchester court on Wednesday July 6.
On July 2 Eastchester Police were once again called to the Lord & Taylor in Eastchester, after two female defendants attempted to leave the store with stolen merchandise, this time to the tune of $1,809.97. Lord & Taylor security staff already had the shoplifters in custody when Eastchester Police arrived on the scene. Both defendants were released on $300 cash bail and are due back in court shortly.
Bronxville – July 4:
A GPS device was reported stolen from an unlocked car parked on McKinley Street in Bronxville early Monday morning. The case was transferred to the Detective Bureau.
Tuckahoe – July 4:
Tuckahoe Police Department was notified of an alarm triggered at the Chase Bank on 62 Main Street in Tuckahoe around 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Officers arrived at the scene to discover no disturbance at the bank, and further investigation revealed that the alarm had been set off by an employee with full authorization.
4th of July Weekend:
All three police departments received numerous fireworks complaints between June 28 and July 4, although there were no major reported incidents or injuries. A member of the Eastchester Police Department wrote a ticket for unlawful possession of fireworks on July 1.
