BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball has signed two superstars that have joined the program, starting with the 2014-15 season. Tashi and Jihad Elvy were introduced as the two newest members of the team at a press conference at Campbell Sports Center on Tuesday.
"These two young men will make an immediate impression on the team," commented Head Coach Chris Ehmer. "My assistant coaches and I know that they are going to be standout members of the team and give us the spark that we need to rise above the competition."
Tashi (14) and Jihad (12) were matched with the Gryphons through Team IMPACT, a program that matches courageous kids with local college athletic teams. The brothers from the Bronx both suffer from Sickle Cell Anemia, a chronic blood condition that can cause life-long complications.
