I sent a birthday card to a friend three weeks ago and it was returned to my address yesterday with the computer note: "Return to Sender; no such number; unable to forward." I wrote out "sixteen" instead of "16" and apparently the computers cannot read written out numbers nor does anyone look at a letter that is rejected.
was taught in school that numbers below twenty were written out, to be
proper. I didn't know that that is no longer possible with mail. I
thought everyone should know.
