Constantly in pursuit of the world's most perfect burger, I stopped by this week to see what all the hype was about, since the burger joint has been featured in many magazines and t.v. shows, even Travel Channel's Man vs. Food, where host Adam Richmond took on the restaurant's biggest food challenge and lost.

The task is enormous, finish a burger that weighs nine pounds and with the bun and toppings, totals in at 15.9 lbs, without getting up or any help and it's free.

The restaurant says that normally, people order this $80 burger for parties or tailgate events and to date, only a handful of customers have accomplished the feat.

For others seeking a regular size meal, the menu has many choices ranging from of course, burgers to cuban sandwiches, a greek style sandwich featuring leg of lamb, grilled tuna steak and much more.

Upon my visit, I stuck with the regular cheeseburger and an order of fries, which runs about $10 depending on your toppings.

In my opinion, this burger is well worth the trip, very tasty and filling, so much so that I wisely only ate about a third of my fries, since I figured I had packed on enough calories with the burger alone, which were well earned calories by the way.

The place is not as large as other locations so tables can fill up quickly but they have very wisely created three different counters for solo patrons to pull up a stool and enjoy their lunch.

Enjoying her Cuban sandwich, Marissa Bariosa of Yonkers shared that, "this place is going to be trouble for me, everything here is amazing!" She says that since their opening in the beginning of September, she has been there about a dozen times, stopping by on her lunch hour a few times a week.

The Burger Joint is located in Cross County Shopping Center on the north side of the mall near Victoria's Secret.

They are open seven days a week from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and you can contact them at 914-375-2131 or visit them on the web at bgrtheburgerjoint.com.
