Author William Durbin Visits The Chapel School

Bronxville, NY- On Wednesday May 7th The Chapel School’s PTO sponsored an author visit for middle school students. Author William Durbin stopped by to discuss his life as a writer. “I like to discuss what inspired me to become a writer, how I do my research, and show photos of the time periods I write about in my stories.” The students enjoyed learning about his process and how they could work on their own writing. “I try to inspire young authors to work on their craft.”

William Durbin is a former teacher who lives in Minnesota. His novels make use of letters, interviews, and old business documents to paint a historical picture for the reader. His books tell the stories of homesteaders, fur traders, lumberjacks and others from the great north region.“ Whenever I visit a community, my goal is to get students excited about reading and to inspire them to engage in writing projects of their own.”
