About Town: Where the Wild Things Are in Bronxville

Womrath celebrates Children's Book Week, get Krazy on Kraft, annual Clothing Sale coming to Reformed Church

We learned earlier this week that the revered children’s book author and illustrator Maurice Sendak had passed away up in Connecticut.  Sad news, especially given that this week has been designated “Children’s Book Week” which has been around since 1919, nine years before Sendak was born.

In celebration of the week, is donating 10% of its profits from children’s books sales until May 13 to the Children’s Room, a great local resource and godsend for parents.

Also this weekend, Krazy on Kraft takes over the eponymous avenue in Bronxville, with specials from merchants all day on Saturday, May 12.  Notably absent will be No Stone Unturned, which recently closed its retail location, but continues to provide unique beading parties for children and adults on their website, www.no-stone-unturned.com.

Looking ahead, next Saturday, May 19, will bring the always popular Clothing and Tag Sale to .  Locals know to get there early to find amazing deals on designer fashions, so mark your calendars – the event starts at 9 a.m., but folks start lining up even earlier.  Most definitely, it will be the place Where the Wild Things Are.
