If your teenage daughter didn’t each much dinner last night, you can probably blame Swizzles, the new self serve frozen yogurt shop on Kraft Ave. near the .
It seemed like every Village girl between the ages of 10 and 16 were packing the place yesterday afternoon, trying free samples of chocolate, cookies n’ cream, strawberry lemonade, and other flavors of the mini-chain’s offerings.
With Black Eyed Peas cranking on the shop’s sound system, a glowing neon wall, and sleek stainless steel tables with clear plastic chairs, Swizzles definitely brings a touch of modernity to an otherwise, rather staid Bronxville.
And the yogurt is delicious! We tried a combo of the chocolate and cookies n’ cream, while the kids opted for some of the fruitier flavors, topped with gummy bears and gummy worms.
A nice touch, especially with a two-year-old in tow, is that Swizzles charges by the ounce. You select from a variety of cup sizes, but can fill each as much or little as you want.
At checkout, you place the cup on a scale, and the contents, toppings and all, are weighed. Makes giving a little one a very small amount very easy, although conversely, it’s tempting to get carried away and load up your own – portion control be damned.
Swizzles promises contests and deals on its Facebook page, and offer specials by text as well. So next time your 15 year-old daughter’s phone lights up, it might not be the new boyfriend you feared, but it may very well be her new true love.
