Here are the top five Netflix rentals for Bronxville at the moment:

  1. Masterpiece Classic: Downton Abbey  – Bronxville’s going highbrow with this British TV drama.
  2. True Grit  –  The Coen Brother’s Oscar-nominated remake of the John Wayne classic, starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon.
  3. No Strings Attached  -   Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher star in the Ivan Reitman comedy.
  4. Black Swan  – Locals like their Natalie, as she also stars in this dark ballet-themed thriller.
  5. The Dilemma  – Vince Vaughn and Kevin James prove that not everything popular around here is a Masterpiece.

Womrath Books hasn’t updated its website yet, but the posted best-sellers in their window include:

  1. In the Garden of Beasts, by Erik Larson – The “Devil in the White City” author takes on life in Berlin during the rise of the Nazis.
  2. Something Blue, by Emily Giffin – The follow-up book to Giffin’s first novel, Something Borrowed, which was recently adapted for screen and starred Kate Hudson.
  3. Throne of Fire, by Rick Riordan – Local tweens are stocking up for summer reading.
  4. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot – How a tissue sample taken from a poor African-American woman, became the basis of a slew of medical breakthroughs.  This one looks fascinating.
  5. Visit from the Goon Squad, by Jennifer Egan -- This book's popularity is beginning  to fade, but remains in the top five for yet another week
