About Town: Blue Blood and Wild Vine in Bronxville

Primetime Show Films in Bronxville, Wine Tasting Tonight, and Santa on Saturday

On this morning’s commute, we bumped into Kim Hadney, who, along with her husband, owns the west side’s new liquor store, Wild Vine.  Kim told us they’ll have a tonight starting at 5 p.m., so stop by while you’re out shopping during the Bronxville Chamber’s Late Night Holiday Shopping event.

Did you notice the iconic Haddad’s location trucks lining Paxton Avenue yesterday?  CBS’s primetime hit, Blue Bloods, starring Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck, was in town filming an episode.  No word on whether Magnum P.I. was spotted About Town, but Wahlberg sightings and pics came in via Twitter as they filmed over by Four Corners.

On Saturday, the holiday season gets kicked off with the Light Up the Town event in Bronxville.  Word has it that Santa Claus himself will be joining the Carolers at 4:30 p.m. that afternoon at the corner of Park Place and Kraft Avenue, right by .  This means that our four-and-a-half-year-old won’t be attending, as she’s still deathly afraid of Santa after an unfortunate post-Radio City Christmas Spectacular incident a couple of years ago.  Doesn’t stop her from expecting gifts from the jolly old fellow, though.

Did you get your $5 coupon in the mail?  This is one of the more ingenious small business promotions we’ve seen – you bring the card into the shop and they hand you five bucks.  You’re free to walk out with your fiver and go buy a beer at , but more likely you’ll partake, as we did, in some of the delicious Christmas cookies on display.

Have a great weekend, folks.  We’ll see you About Town.
