Five bucks for Shakespeare and under the stars? Only in Bronxville.
Sure, Central Park’s productions are free, but you have to wait in line for several days amongst snotty Upper West Siders to grab seats. Not so over on Midland Avenue, where the will host four performances of the play in their lovely back garden.
The performances, by Pipe Dream Theatre, run Aug. 2 and Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m., and on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 at 8 p.m.
Bring a picnic - doors open a half hour before each show - as tables and chairs will be available. And while the forecast is looking pretty darn good, if it rains, they’ll simply move a few feet inside to their beautiful ballroom.
As mentioned, the suggested donation is only $5 per person, much cheaper than a bad movie. So keep money in thy purse and reserve seats by emailing Pipe Dream Theatre at tickets@pipedreamtheatre.com or by calling 914-468-1401.
