We’re fighting the nasty cold that seems to be making the rounds of Bronxville with a combination of Theraflu (currently on sale at ) and “Breathe Deep” Yogi Tea from . If reports from other residents are to be believed, this is a particularly nasty strain, which will get worse before it gets better.
At least we’re not working outside in today’s rough weather. The construction crews continue to overpass to lay a new section of sewer pipe. Traffic headed away from the Village on that stretch is being diverted to Pondfield Road West.
Just a few doors down from the construction carnage, at is once again accepting donations, so if you’re like us, and trying to de-clutter after the massive influx of holiday toys, now is a good time to find a new home for some of your older stuff, while getting a head start on tax deductions for 2012. The drop-off location in Eastchester is another good bet.
We bumped into local musician Don Drumm at yesterday – he’s got a new version of his Bronxville-themed video, named for the coffee shop, up on YouTube. You can watch it here.
Also on the arts front – is currently hosting an exhibition of work from their Art Classes – the show runs through the end of the month, and there will be a reception on Monday, January 16th, from 2pm until 5pm.
Finally, in the believe-it-or-not department, did you know that Metro North rececently purchased three military surplus Rolls-Royce jet engines, previously used in drone aircraft, to melt snow on the rails? Talk about a career change - one minute you're knocking off terrorists, the next you're clearing snow for suburban commuters. Now, if we only had snow...
