Margaret Gotti: Former Pace University VP

Margaret Roy Gotti of East Dennis, Ma. formerly of Yonkers & Eastchester, N.Y. passed away on July 15, 2013.

Born June 11, 1940 in Glasgow Scotland, daughter of James and Louisa Roy, she came to the United States in 1947. She graduated from Hunter College with a Master's Degree and earned a Doctorate from Fordham University.

She married Robert Charles Gotti on June 26, 1965 at Dayspring Presbyterian Church, Yonkers, N.Y.

She began her teaching career at Lincoln High School in Yonkers, N.Y. where she co-authored two books "The Challenge of Our Heritage" (a social, political, economic, history of the United States) and "The Italian Heritage in Yonkers."

She joined the faculty of Pace University in 1981 and served through 2001 retiring as Sr. Vice President and tenured professor, Dept. of Public Administration.

She retired to Cape Cod where she enjoyed golf with family and friends and developed a love for painting and gardening.

She was an active member of the Brewster Baptist Church, and enjoyed memberships in the Cape Museum of Fine Arts, Cape Symphony, Dennis-Yarmouth Newcomers, Cape Cod Art Assoc. and the Village Garden Club of Dennis.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert of 48 years, her sons Robert Roy Gotti and his wife Claire of Westwood, Ma., and Keith Charles Gotti and his wife Nicole of Ridgefield, Ct., and seven beloved grandchildren Brendan, Bryan, Melissa, Michael; Madison, Ashley, and Kelsey.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Monday, July 22, 2013 at Doane Beal & Ames in Dennis, Ma. Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Brewster Baptist Church at 11 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation  or the Brewster Baptist Church.
