With the temperatures right where they should be for this time of year, it certainly has looked and felt like summer thus far in our area. Here are a list of event for you and the family to consider this three day holiday weekend.
Keep in mind that Monday, May 28 is a federal holiday so all banks, post offices and all public institutions will be closed including all three public libraries.
This weekend in Bronxville, the following events will be taking place:
- James E. Kearney Run for Fun-Saturday May 26
Same-day registration begins at 7:45 am
Preregistered runners arrive at 8:45 am
Race begins at 9:00 am at flagpole on Pondfield Road in front of Bronxville High School. - Family Picnic-Saturday May 26
Bronxville Youth Organization picnic; DJ and activities for the kids
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Bronxville School field - Memorial Day Parade-Monday May 28
The Memorial Day parade begins at 9:00 a.m. and starts on the west side of town near the rotary in front of the hospital. The parade marches under the underpass and down Pondfield Road through the business district to the front of the Bronxville School. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will gather around the school flagpole to lay wreaths in honor of the war dead, and Mayor Mary Marvin will give the annual Memorial Day address. - Carnival Games and Activities for Kids of All Ages-Monday May 28
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Bronxville School Field
Bronxville burgers and treats sponsored by the Bronxville Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
In Eastchester/Tuckahoe, the following events are planned:
- Memorial Day Parade-Monday May 28. The parade begins at 5 p.m. in Eastchester and will head down White Plains Rd., finishing in Depot Sq. in Tuckahoe.
