Tuckahoe High School Football Team Joins NY Jets and Giants for Charity

From the Tuckahoe Union Free School District:

The Tuckahoe High School Varsity Football Team is joining the New York Giants, New York Jets, the NY/NJ Super Bowl XLVIII host Committee and Verizon for a Super Bowl Community initiative, entitled SUPER KIDS-SUPER SHARING, to benefit local children in need.

The students are collecting lightly used (or new) books, sports equipment and school supplies. Donated items will be distributed to children in need. They are also collecting used cell phones to help domestic violence prevention organizations and local shelters.

Beginning Monday, December 2, 2013 through Saturday, January 11, 2014, items can be dropped off to collection boxes located in the entrance way at the following locations:

• William E. Cottle School

• Tuckahoe High School

• Tuckahoe Community Center (Monday thru Friday, Noon to 5 PM)

• Tuckahoe High School Gym (Saturdays between 1 PM and 6 PM)

Football Coach, John D’Arco, urges community members to “Join us as the SUPER KIDS at Tuckahoe High School share with others and make a real difference in the lives of needy children during this Super Bowl Season.”

The event will culminate on January 16, 2014 with a collection event at Riverbank State Park when several students will drop off and help sort materials at a ceremony with representatives from the NFL and Super Bowl Host Committee.
