Pajamas and Fun at Charity Drive by Tuckahoe Eastchester Girl Scouts

The Tuckahoe Eastchester Girl Scouts threw a party the other day, but there was one catch. Everyone came dressed in their their pajamas.


About 30 members of the Tuckahoe Eastchester troop and other area troops spent last Friday evening at the Girl Scout Cabin on Highland Avenue in Eastchester playing and generally having fun for a good cause.


Called The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive, the troop teamed up with the Scholastic Reading Club to collect pajamas and books for underprivileged children under the nonprofit Pajama Program.

The girls collected about 100 pairs of new pajamas for the drive.


In addition to collecting the pajamas, the girls also interacted with each other through various activities set up in stations around the cabin:

- There was the Breakfast for dinner station, since they were dressed in PJs, the menu was bagels/muffins, fruit, cereal and yogurt parfaits.


- The Salon station where the girls were able to polish each others nails and color chalk their hair


- The collection box station where they decorated the box that would hold all of the PJs


- The “Make Their Own Bookmark” station


- The Story Corner where the girls read holiday books with friends.
