JCC Dancers Put on 'Spectacular Show' for Westchester Senior Citizens

From the JCC of Mid-Westchester:

Ballet, Hip Hop and Tap dance students from the JCC Dance School recently performed for senior citizens at the Hearthstone Alzheimer Care facility of The Esplanade, in White Plains, NY, as part of the school’s community outreach program.

“We really look forward to the JCC show each year,” says Hearthstone program director Charlene Francis. “The girls did a spectacular show! They are so talented! Residents enjoyed the show, and some even mentioned it the next day!”

For school-aged children, the JCC’s highly-regarded dance company, The Westchester Theatre of Dance (WTD), has an upcoming outreach performance that will introduce young students to music, theatre and dance. On Friday, March 28, WTD will present the classical ballet “Gaite Parisienne,” featuring music by Jacques Offenbach and choreography by Jayne Santoro. Student participation is encouraged during the post-performance question-and-answer session and interaction with the performers and choreographer.

Space is limited. Interested school groups may contact Jayne Santoro, 914-472-3300, x320 or santoroj@jccmw.org. The JCC of Mid-Westchester is located at 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale, www.jccmw.org.
