The Community Fund of Bronxville Eastchester Tuckahoe Launches Fundraising Drive

The Community Fund of Bronxville Eastchester Tuckahoe, Inc. has been an important part of the region for 94 years.

The following is a Letter to the Editor from Jeff Rohr, president of The Community Fund of Bronxville Eastchester Tuckahoe, Inc.:

To the Editor:

I am writing to you as the president of The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.  This is my fifth year on the Board of Directors and I have seen first-hand what The Community Fund means to our community. The Community Fund was established in 1919, and for 94 years members of our community have recognized that additional financial support is needed for essential services to be provided in our community.

The Community Fund plays a critical role in making our community a better, more desirable, and safer place to live. The Community Fund provides vital support for youth, family, health, and senior services through 24 agencies and community programs.  For example, contributions to the The Community Fund provide the funding for the purchase every three years of a new ambulance for our local residents.  In addition, contributions provide support across all three communities for families with special needs; families that need day care or after school care, and for other vital services, such as the flu shot program and end of life counseling.

Contributions to The community Fund are invested in our community.  We have a dedicated Board of Directors and local volunteers who diligently evaluate the agencies and programs to determine the appropriate level of Community Fund support and to provide feedback on how the agencies and programs can better serve the community.  While the agencies and programs have other sources of funding, all rely on the support of the Community Fund.

I ask my friends and neighbors to please support The Community Fund this year.  It is an investment in the quality of life of our community. Visit the Community Fund website at www.thecommunityfund.org, for information on the agencies and programs or to donate online.  Also, please remember The Community Fund in your company’s Matching Gift, Employee Giving, or United Way campaigns.

Very sincerely,
Jeff Rohr
President
