GoFundMe: Chantilly Patisserie Raises Donations for Fire Victims

In a little over a week, more than 40 people have given a total of $3,575 for Jamila Flax, who lost her mother and home in a late-November fire.

The Bronxville cupcake shop, Chantilly Patisserie, launched the fundraising campaign this month, which they call 28 Days of Giving. The campaign was created through GoFundMe, the online crowdfunding website.

“In the process of her family rebuilding, we are asking for the love and support of friends, family and all of you who are willing to help,” the shop wrote on the campaign’s GoFundMe page. “We are holding this fundraiser to help Jamila and family get their lives back on track. We are asking you to donate anything that you can to help us reach beyond our goal.”

The shop is hoping to raise in excess of $5,000 for Jamila and her family, and in addition to the GoFundMe page, the shop is also selling $10 raffle tickets for a drawing of a gift basket of items selected from Bronxville-area stores. Included in the basket will be a gift certificate for a $350 custom cake from Chantilly Patisserie.
